Most landlords don’t interact much with their rental properties after tenants have moved in, save for times when they need to collect rent or perform repairs on the property.

The types of rental property inspections
Here are the types of inspections you need to conduct on your property.
Move-in inspection
This inspection is done after the tenant signs the lease but before they move in. It’s done to ensure that there are no pre-existing problems with the property.
Quarterly inspection
This is an inspection that’s done every few months or so to ensure that the tenants aren’t doing anything that violates the terms and conditions of the contract.
Drive-by interview
This inspection is done by observing the rental property from the outside to gauge any potential problems. This inspection can be done without notifying the tenant.
Move-out inspection
This involves inspecting the rental property after the tenant has moved out. This is done to ensure that the former tenant left the property in good condition.
